Directive

Manage the Y2K remediation efforts utilizing a team of contract programmers to make the code changes and utilize the programming team employed by the chemical company to conduct testing as soon as the code was ready for system wide testing. This would allow the programming team employed by the chemical company to attend to the day-to-day needs of the business with minimal distraction.

Remarks

Managed a team of AS/400, RPG programmers in analyzing the code and modifying the code so that a full four-digit year was used throughout the system.

Worked with the programmers employed by the chemical company to develop test plans and thorough testing.

Results

Successfully implemented all of the changes well before January 1, 2000.

Successfully mitigated all of the issues, as there were no date related issues upon the date rolling over to January 1, 2000 or there after.
