A member had written an old Lotus 123 system to charge, track, and print receipts for bingo players. It no longer worked with a new computer they bought.

They needed me to rewrite and redesign the application in Microsoft Access.

Remarks

The new system allowed them to receive more players faster.

It took 1 person with the system to receive patrons versus 2 people manually and the system printed accurate receipts and kept a transaction log, which was needed for tax purposes.

Results

Productivity doubled and human errors were significantly reduced.

ROI was approximately 2 years.
